I opted to make a "scene trailer" instead of a usual "highlights trailer" for my horror production. This was because of the popularity of this sort of trailer with modern films, and I thought it would be a comtemporary way to appeal to my target audience.
This recently released trailer for the Pixar Film THE BRAVE shows the rise of scene trailers. The person who posted the video comments "This trailer also takes a completely different approach to trailer-ing than we've seen lately -- and for the better -- in that it just focuses on one scene in the film."
